Flexible Pump Sealing Options with U-Plus™
The new U-Plus™ bracket allows you to use any of Viking Pump’s cartridge or component mechanical seals, packing, and Viking Pump’s own O-Pro® seals.
The U-Plus™ Bracket seal chamber accepts a variety of seal types – unlocking a new level of flexibility. This change is felt the most with the legacy 724 and 4724 Series™ products. The U-Plus™ bracket integrates both series into the Universal line. Users of the older 724 and 4724 Series™ will be pleased to know that seal changes are now easier – and switching seal types no longer requires pump modification. Pumps with the U-Plus™ bracket can be installed with packing, various stuffing box component seals, cartridge seals, behind the rotor seals, and of course Viking Pump’s own O-Pro® seals. As an added bonus, Viking pumps with the new U-Plus™ bracket come standard with perforated window guards for protection from rotating parts.
Advanced Pump Porting with ProPort™ Casing
The ProPort™ casing unlocks greater installation flexibility with:
- Customizable port sizes and types
- Standard casing drain
- Standard internal circulation holes
- Ability to utilize flat gaskets or O-rings between pump sections, including the bracket, casing, head, and ports
The ProPort™ casing utilizes special mounting pads on each port designed to fit a number of different port types and sizes – creating flexibility for connecting pumps to piping. The ProPort™ casing comes standard with a threaded casing drain as well as optional internal circulation – adding to the pump’s versatility and reducing the number of pump variations in your facility. This new casing is also designed to accommodate o-rings or fiber gaskets for joint sealing between the bracket, casing, and head – as well as the bolt on ports – for increased sealing ability in high pressure or difficult to seal applications.

These pumps are dimensionally interchangeable with legacy universal series internal gear products, making upgrades simple without requiring a full system redesign.
Here’s what these updates mean for you: Flexibility, simplicity, and the ability to make changes down the line. Processes and needs change over time – and the pump can now change with them. Attach larger flanges to the pump to match larger piping needs. Swap the seal to match new requirements in a different application.
Finally, if you are replacing an older Viking pump, U-Plus™ bracketed pumps are dimensionally interchangeable with legacy Universal seal products, as well as the legacy 724 and 4724 Series™.
