Viking Pump completed the Universal Product Line upgrade with the release of cast iron models in early 2026, featuring the U-Plus™ bracket and optional ProPort™ casing. Customers can dramatically reduce inventory, simplify maintenance processes, and future-proof installations.
Flexible Pump Sealing Options with U-Plus™
The new U-Plus™ bracket allows users to install any of Viking Pump’s cartridge or component mechanical seals, packing, or O-Pro® seals.
Its seal chamber accepts multiple seal types, giving users significantly more flexibility. This improvement is especially valuable for legacy 724 and 4724 Series™ pumps. By integrating both series into the Universal Product Line, seal changes become much simpler. Switching seal types no longer requires pump modifications. Users can install packing, various stuffing box component seals, cartridge seals, behind-the-rotor seals, or Viking Pump’s own O-Pro® seals in pumps equipped with the U-Plus™ bracket. As an added bonus, Viking pumps with the new U-Plus™ bracket come standard with perforated window guards for protection from rotating parts.
Advanced Pump Porting with ProPort™ Casing
The ProPort™ casing unlocks greater installation flexibility with:
- Customizable port sizes and types
- Standard casing drain
- Standard internal circulation holes
- Ability to utilize flat gaskets or O-rings between pump sections, including the bracket, casing, head, and ports
Special mounting pads allow the ProPort™ casing to accommodate multiple port sizes and connection types, making piping installation much more flexible. It also includes a threaded casing drain as standard, with optional internal circulation. This increases versatility while reducing the number of pump variations needed throughout a facility.This new casing is also designed to accommodate o-rings or fiber gaskets for joint sealing between the bracket, casing, and head – as well as the bolt on ports – for increased sealing ability in high pressure or difficult to seal applications.

These pumps are dimensionally interchangeable with legacy Universal Series internal gear pumps, making upgrades simple without requiring a complete system redesign.

Larger flanges can be added to match new piping requirements, while seals can be changed to suit different applications without replacing the entire pump.
