Pentair Aurora 340 series pumps have long enjoyed an outstanding reputation, with thousands of pumps installed and currently operating in Michigan alone. Although Pentair Aurora pumps are still manufactured, the 340 series has been discontinued, with no exact equivalent pump available. As a result, complete replacement of a Pentair Aurora 340 pump generally would require at least some piping changes to accommodate another pump.

BPO assemblies are ideal if repairs include frame parts, impeller, and stuffing box cover. The BPO option can be much more economical than the sum of the parts plus shop costs.

Aurora 341/344 back pull-out assemblies (excluding the casing) are available in two designs.

• Close coupled with motors
• Flexible coupled with power frame bracket

Note that for a 341 Series close-couple pump, it is necessary to order a new motor with the BPO whether or not the motor requires replacement. However, the cost of the motor may be less than other alternatives and may be more attractive than making piping changes. The result is, essentially, an entirely new pump.
