Aurora 340 Parts and Repair Options to Keep Your Pentair Aurora 340 Pumps Running
Pentair Aurora 340 series pumps have long enjoyed an outstanding reputation, with thousands of pumps installed and currently operating in Michigan alone. Although Pentair Aurora pumps are still manufactured, the 340 series has been discontinued, with no exact equivalent pump available. As a result, complete replacement of a Pentair Aurora 340 pump generally would require at least some piping changes to accommodate another pump.
Pentair Aurora 340 Pump Repair Service
In many cases, repairing an existing Aurora 340 pump presents the best alternative to keep your process operational without major changes. After all, when you have a good thing going, why not keep it?
Fortunately, parts, repair kits, and even assemblies are now available to ensure that your Pentair Aurora 340 continues operation. These can become a welcome solution in the right circumstances:

Aurora 340 Back Pull-out Assembly with Motor or Power Frame
In a case in which extensive repairs are needed but the existing pump housing can be salvaged, Aurora 340 back pull-out assemblies (BPOs) can be an attractive option. BPO assemblies are ideal if repairs include frame parts, impeller, and stuffing box cover. The BPO option can be much more economical than the sum of the parts plus shop costs.
Aurora 341/344 back pull-out assemblies (excluding the casing) are available in two designs.
- Close coupled with motors
- Flexible coupled with power frame bracket
Note that for a 341 Series close-couple pump, it is necessary to order a new motor with the BPO whether or not the motor requires replacement. However, the cost of the motor may be less than other alternatives and may be more attractive than making piping changes. The result is, essentially, an entirely new pump.
